Choosing a WordPress theme seems to be an endless source of amusement, agony or simply a complete waste of time. Most of us bloggers, niche site creators and just plain website creators are not blessed with an abundance of design skills. So why does everyone waste so much time?
A theme needs to do only three things –
- Display your content in a clear and easily digested way.
- Not slow down your website.
- Provide a good mobile experience.
Any of the default WordPress themes should work – Twenty-Twenty or Twenty-TwentyOne. Providing that they keep updating them the earlier default themes should work OK.
Default themes are a great way to start without too much hastle. Always remember it’s more important to produce good quality content than it is to be fancy on the look and feel.

Don’t like the default themes? Want something fancier that still gives you a speedy website? The WordPress community always seems to deliver and the good news is that there are two excellent WordPress themes that deliver.
